What’s on the menu? 

Headlam Hall is an award winning 5* hotel with an amazing Head Chef! All ingredients are sourced locally and responsibly. The Brooke Winter Ball four course dinner is traditionally a seasonal demi-tasse, starter, main course and desert menu and adapted to accommodate everyone’s personal diet and allergens. You will have been asked to state your dietary preferences and allergens when booking. However, if you have not already stated your dietary preferences or wish to amend your preferences at any time please inform Brooke of your requirements at least two weeks in advance of the event so we may accommodate your request. What are my parking/transport options?

Free parking is available at the hotel. The nearest mainline railway station is Darlington and taxis are available at the station to take you to the hotel. Beware your SAT NAV may take you to the post box on the village green, opposite the hotel entrance!  Further information on how to get to the hotel. 

Are there special rates if we want to stay at the hotel?

Yes there are! The per room rates for the night of the 2021 Brooke Winter Ball are as follows:

  • Coach House - £120 

  • Main Hall, Mews and Spa - £160

  • Main Hall Deluxe and Junior Suites - £180 

Rates are per room, accommodate two people, include your choice of breakfast from the breakfast menu and access to the Spa facilities during your stay. If during your stay you would like to book Spa treatments, a tee off time or any have any other requests relating to your stay at the hotel please contact the hotel directly for prices and availability.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? 

You must be age 18 or over to attend this event and ID may be requested when buying alcohol. Please therefore bring ID with you to present on the night.

Do we have to bring our tickets with us to the event?

Yes please. We look forward to welcoming you to the Winter Ball personally. 

Is my ticket transferable to another person? 

If you wish to make name changes please contact the Brooke Winter Ball team by email [email protected]

How will Brooke use the personal data I provide in relation to this event?

Brooke will use the personal data you provide to process your booking and/or administer your donation(s) for this the Winter Ball event. Your contact details will also be used by Brooke to communicate with you in the ways you have indicated. Your data may be analysed and publicly available information may be added to it in order to create a profile of your interests and preferences. Please see our privacy statement at thebrooke.org/privacy for further information about how we will use your personal data. 

First and last names are required to help effectively manage catering of the event, table planning, seating arrangements, dietary and allergen requirements, special access requests and other special needs. We and the team at Headlam Hall want to ensure that you have a truly memorable and enjoyable evening.

What happens if the event is cancelled or re-scheduled to a later date? 

If Brooke cancels or re-schedules to a later date, due to unforeseen circumstances or Government revised road-map due to COVID-19, you will be given the option to receive a full refund of the ticket price paid or transfer your reservation to the new event date. 

What happens if I have to cancel or cannot attend on the night? 

If you cancel and/or are no longer able to attend, there will be no refund of your ticket price. However, please be assured the funds received will assist Brooke’s work in helping working horses, donkeys and mules and the people who depend on them for their livelihoods. Your funds will help us to provide for our beneficiaries where the need is greatest across our work.

A group of long-time volunteer fundraisers based in North Yorkshire and County Durham, who have supported Brooke for many years, organise this event.
